What Is The Child of Wales Awards?
The Child of Wales Awards is a very special annual event that celebrates the inspirational achievements of the young people of Wales, while raising money for charities in Wales dedicated to helping children.
How do we collect information?
When you submit a nomination for someone to win an Award then we will require personally identifiable information (e.g., name, e-mail, phone number, location data, about both you and the nominee and information about why they should win the award) in order to assess your application.
When you register your interest for table sales, we will ask you to provide personally identifiable information (e.g., name, e-mail, phone number, location data, to fulfil your order).You may also provide us with information when interacting with our content at third-party social networking sites.
The information we collect may be combined with information from outside records.
We use cookies, web beacons and other similar technologies to keep track of your interactions with our Sites and services (including email open and click tracking) to offer you a more personalised experience.
What type of information is collected from you?
The personal information we collect might include your name, address, email address, IP address, and information regarding what pages are accessed and when. If you purchase a product from us, your credit card information is processed by our third-party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions.
How is your information used?
The information we collect is used to fulfil your requests. This includes:
- Assessing your nominee’s application for an award, and carrying out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;
- dealing with entries into a competition;
- seeking your views on or comments on the services we provide;
- notify you of changes to our services;
- send you communication which you have requested and that may be of interest;
- Keeping you up to date with information about the event you have contacted us regarding, and any future events which may be of interest to you;
- Displaying personalised content and advertising to provide you with the messages we think you will find most interesting.
We may use your information to inform you of other products or services offered by NCA.
We may use your information at a single or aggregate level for data analysis, web page usage, email open and click tracking
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us. We will hold your information on file, unless requested otherwise by yourself.
Who has access to your information?
We will not sell or rent your information to third parties. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The Nomination data is stored securely on our systems and is password protected. Your nomination may contain sensitive data as defined by the GDPR legislation and will be treated accordingly. Your data will be anonymised before judging – names, age and general location will still be shown to the judges. Once the judges have chosen winners in the relevant categories then all the unsuccessful nominations, the nomination information will be deleted, but the nominating email address will be kept on file whilst to enable us to keep nominators up to date on future events. We will delete the data permanently upon request.
The successful nominees / winners of the categories will have a praised version of their stories told at the awards (Which may be available to watch via TV/Online) and via Press Releases. These will be cleared with you beforehand but it is a condition of nominating that you agree to the sharing of this information if you win.
For ticket / Table Sales we will store your details securely and only share the information with those staff members who need access to process the order or with third parties who will provide you with the service.

We may pass your information to our third party service providers, agents, subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf.
An example would be third party companies that provide e-mailing services that allow us to contact you.
However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes. Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties for them to use for their own direct marketing purposes, unless you have requested us to do so, or we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is encrypted and protected with the following software 128 Bit encryption on SSL. When you are on a secure page, a lock icon will appear on the bottom of web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer. (All payment pages are https and we are working towards our entire site being https).

Web Beacons
