Swansea City Football Club confirms support of awards

Date: 26th September 2022 | By: national

We’re in the final week of nominations and fantastic stories of our nation’s children and young people have been flooding in since July this year. There is still a bit of time to get entries in, so if you know a young hero then nominate them today – click here to nominate.

We have been overwhelmed with support from both re-confirming sponsors and new businesses joining us, and today we’re introducing Swansea City Football Club as sponsors of the Community Champion award.

The Championship club play their games at the Swansea.com stadium, and is managed by former professional footballer Russell Martin. Swansea is one of the proudest football cities in Britain and the city will always be proud of their seven consecutive years in the Premier league, reaching the last 32 in the Europa League and the EFL Cup winners.

Their foundation – Swansea City AFC Foundation – has been working in the heart of the Swansea community for over 14 years. They work tirelessly to inspire and engage people from all backgrounds, with a mission to use the club as a force for positive change, creating conditions for communities to flourish.

Swansea City chief executive Julian Winter said “We are delighted to sponsor the Community Champion award at next year’s Child of Wales Awards.

“Our club is very much about supporting and empowering our community, and it’s always inspiring to see the next generation of young people and children leading the way.

“We are really looking forward to the awards, and to meeting all the deserving recipients.”

Blanche Sainsbury, Awards Founder, said Swansea City joined us at the awards last year and really helped to make the evening special for our winners by providing personalised kits and arranging special appearances.

Their dedication in the community makes them the perfect sponsor for the Community Champion award and we are so thankful of their support”

Swansea City Football Club join Principality Building Society, The Trade Centre Wales, Princes Gate Water, Bluestone National Park Resort, Castell Howell, Redkite Law LLP, Route Media, GD Harries & Sons, Thomas Carroll, Owens Group, Equinox Physiotherapy Partnership Ltd, Gower College Swansea, Mark Jermin Stage School, Forrest Print and Valley Mill in their support of the awards.

With only a few sponsorship options remaining, there is still a chance for you to be involved in the special event. Contact Ashleigh Kerr on ashleigh@childofbritain.com to find out more.
