Holly & Emily Walker have had a busy year since they collected their award.

Holly took her GCSEs in June last year and in September she started at Cardiff Sixth Form college, where she boards during the week,  studying A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and French. She will be applying for medical school later this year. Holly is currently learning to drive!

Emily started her GCSE courses in September, with her favourite subjects including History, English and Computer Science. Emily led Music for Tom before Christmas with a group of Tom’s friends, raising over £500. She will be appearing in the school production of My Fair Lady as Mrs Pearce the Housekeeper in the week before the Child of Wales awards.

Tom’s fund hit its second £100,000 target in October 2022, coinciding with Tom’s 18^th birthday. The Walker family are currently in talks with Cancer Research Wales about projects to support, and will be focussing their attention on brain tumour research, an area in need of more research to improve treatment and outcomes for those affected. The annual “Walk for Tom” is in the planning stages and is likely to take place at the end of June.
