We are thrilled to announce Redkite Solicitors as one of our event partners for the National Children of Wales Awards.

Redkite Solicitors have been helping families across England and Wales resolve their legal issues since 1898. The company was formed following the 2011 merger of two large firms of Solicitors: Lowless & Lowless, who were based in Pembrokeshire in Wales, and Morris Roberts Solicitors of Carmarthenshire, Wales.

In 2017, Redkite Solicitors were part of another merger with three longstanding law firms, Charles Crookes of Cardiff, George Tudor & De Winton of Brecon and The Phoenix Legal Group of Stroud, Stonehouse and Dursley in Gloucestershire. The reasoning behind this was that Redkite Solicitors wanted to seek the best of the best, and had a quest to find the most dedicated legal experts in the UK.

Following this successful merger, Redkite Solicitors are proud to be able to offer outstanding customer service, with a wide range of experts on hand to solve any legal issue.

Of its position as an event partner, Redkite Solicitors Chief Executive, Neil Walker, said:

“As a business founded in Wales, whose ethos is to prioritise supporting our local communities, we were excited to hear that the Bluestone Foundation were planning an event which will recognise truly unique children from across Wales.

“We are in awe of the way children are able to manage and adapt to adversity in their lives, while remaining strong for themselves and those around them. These children, their families, carers, and the charities that help them on a daily basis, absolutely deserve to be recognised for all that they do. There was never a moment we did not want to be involved in making such an important event happen!”

Blanche Sainsbury, the founder of the National Children of Wales Awards, added:

“We are extremely grateful for the support of Redkite Solicitors. Their involvement as an event partner reflects their dedication to supporting initiatives that really make a difference to the communities of Wales. Without the backing of such businesses, awards such as this would not be possible.”

We are thrilled to announce that Joe’s Ice Cream is the Bravery Award sponsor for the National Children of Wales Awards.

The company has a very interesting history. In 1898, Luigi Cascarini came to Swansea from Italy, and discovered that no cafes were open in the mornings to accommodate the early workers of the Swansea Valley.

Luigi opened a cafe for workers, where he served them authentic Italian coffee. Soon, he was opening multiple cafes, which his children helped him run.

Luigi’s eldest son, Joe, came to Wales and began to run the café on 85 St Helen’s Road. As an avid fan of ice-cream, Joe wanted to add an Italian flair to his father’s Welsh cafes. Following a secret family recipe, Joe sourced the finest ingredients in Wales and introduced Swansea to the unique, luxury Italian ice-cream which is popular today.

Regarding their involvement with the National Children of Wales Awards, co-owner, Adrian Hughes, said:

“Joe’s Ice Cream is incredibly proud to be part of the inaugural National Children of Wales Awards, recognising the outstanding achievements, tireless fundraising, passion and incredible bravery of children and young people in Wales.

“As an ice cream producer, bringing happiness to children is part of what we do. We firmly believe that every child has a right to a happy and safe childhood, but sadly this is all too often not the case. These awards will raise much needed funds and support to four amazing charities, dedicated to helping and supporting children in Wales”.

Blanche Sainsbury, the founder of the National Children of Wales Awards, added:

“We are delighted that Joe’s Ice Cream have chosen to sponsor our Bravery Award. A visit to Joe’s is a favourite treat for so many Welsh children, and it’s wonderful to have them so prominently involved in these important awards. Without companies such as Joe’s, events such as this would not be possible.”

We are delighted to announce Iceland as the sponsor for the Environmental Champion Award at the upcoming National Children of Wales Awards.

Iceland Foods Ltd is a British supermarket chain with its headquarters based in Wales. They emphasize the sale of frozen foods, yet also provide non-frozen grocery items.

Iceland is a firm favourite among UK shoppers, known for their affordable prices and high-quality food.

Providing nutritional, affordable food is central to Iceland’s ethos as a company. It’s important to them that children have access to healthy food that won’t break the bank.

In 2018, Iceland announced that it would end the use of plastic for all its own-brand products by 2023, highlighting their commitment to the environment.

Richard Walker, Managing Director of Iceland, said:

“Iceland is delighted to sponsor the Environmental Champion Award to celebrate the most inspiring young environmentalists in Wales. The growing movement from young people raising awareness of global environmental issues gives me great hope for the future.

“As the biggest company in Wales, we are incredibly proud to recognise the fantastic work being done by the next generation of activists and potential future leaders of our country”.

Blanche Sainsbury, the founder of the National Children of Wales Awards, added:

“We are thrilled that Iceland have chosen to sponsor the Environmental Champion Award. Their involvement with this award is a perfect fit: their work to cut plastic waste has made them a forerunner in the move towards more environmentally responsible supermarkets.  Without the backing of businesses like Iceland, awards such as this would not be possible.”

On its involvement with the National Children of Wales Awards, Nick Sullivan, Head of Freetrade Sales, said:

“Everyone here at Bidfood Wales is extremely proud to be sponsoring this year’s National Children of Wales Awards, which celebrates the inspirational achievements of remarkable young people across Wales.

“We are honoured to be part of a project that shines a light on tremendously brave children and young people who regularly face hardships and challenges in everyday life. Community engagement is extremely important to Bidfood as a business, which is why we make it part of our mission to regularly support our local communities across Wales.”

Blanche Sainsbury, the founder of the National Children of Wales Awards, added:

“We’re thrilled that Bidfood is the overall sponsor for the National Children of Wales Awards. The company really works hard to give something back to the communities of Wales. Their decision to sponsor these awards reflects that commitment and will help make an extraordinary and inspirational event a reality. Without the backing of businesses like Bidfood, awards such as this would not be possible.”
