Swansea Building Society named as our Community Champion Award sponsor

This year’s Child of Wales Awards is scheduled to take place at Swansea Arena on September 27, 2024. Swansea Building Society is renowned for its own commitment to helping organisations within the local community. Marking its centenary last year, the Society donated well over £100,000 to a variety of community-based charities and organisations as part of its celebrations.

Nominations are now officially open for this year’s highly anticipated event, we welcome nominations for the Community Champion Award, encouraging individuals to share stories of unsung heroes whose dedication and compassion enrich the lives of those around them.

A mixture of representatives from the award sponsors, celebrities, and independent advisors will form the panel that will have to make the difficult decision to pick a winner for each category.

About Swansea Building Society – sponsor of Community Champion award

Swansea Building Society was established in 1923, with its recently expanded head office being located in Cradock Street, Swansea.  It also has branch offices in Swansea, Mumbles, Carmarthen and Cowbridge. It employs 41 full time staff, 28 part time staff, and also has a board consisting of a Chairman and six Non-Executive directors. The Society, which celebrated its centenary last year, is one of only three remaining mutual building societies in Wales and the only one with its headquarters in South West Wales.

The Society’s commitment to supporting local communities is at the heart of everything it does, and it is well known for supporting many worthy charities and community groups with fundraising support every year.
